Remember Last December.............A Project was Born!

This view is going taken from down the stairs from

the first floor of the ranch. This family room has wall out

french doors and fireplace. It stays hot down here!

Don't you just love my paper shades, lol.

This is looking into the sports bar room from the family room.

This is an engineered hardwood flooring. The cabinet

tops have not been made yet. That is right after Christmas.

Of coarse I have to have an oven for pizza nights.

There are two closets in this room. It also has

two walk out french doors and the bathroom is located right

next to the french doors.

This view is looking from the french doors into the room.

The entry to the left is the sports bar. The work out room is

right across from the bathroom and the craft room is right

across from the bar entering from the side. The door open

in the center is the way to the main living area. The door

to the right is the storage area. It's been a long process.

We have the trim, doors, bar tops, tile in the computer nook and

bathroom to lay yet. Then the carpet! I am so ready for this to be

finished. We where delayed due to the passing of my mother n law.

So what's next! My to do list from last year's projects!

So this is why I've not had much time to blog and my daughter is

getting married March 5th. So I still have a busy first quarter.

I got to drive her last night and I was scared to death.

We had grandma bunny show up in her white outfit

What a mess........I haven't been able to stay focused!!

The last 10 weekends have been spent working down in our basement.

All the framing for each room (bar room) (man cave) bath room where all

roughed in. The plumbing is finished. The only thing left to do

before dry wall in the wiring. Hubby says he needs two days to

get the electrical done. I've been getting contractors in for bids on the dry

wall because hubby doesn't want to do this job. He is back on working

on restoring his 66 corvette. I'm very lucky that we got this far already.

The shower and the vantity is bought. I am still deciding on flooring, cabinets for

the bar area, ovens and wall color. I know just exactly where the dish room

is going! The gym is complete and my craft, flower craft room is complete.

Due to all the overflow in those areas I will show them when these rooms are

completed. A lot going on.

I feel like Gollumn. I am also working on the back porches.

Selecting paint for laundry room and cabinets. Selecting paint

for dinning room and floyer. Chair railing for dinning room, kitchen nook

and large kitchen hallway have not been finished yet. However the chair railing

and frame trim has been completed in the floyer and down the entry hall ways.

This is the bar kitchen area. There will be fridge undercounter,

a double oven and cabinets in this area for bar glasses etc. This

room is really large.

This is the area where the bar stools will be....................................Doors to right is the gym area

Gym thru the doors to the right, doors to the left is a large room for crafty and my weddings.

There are 4 large rooms in the basement and one storage room. I can't wait to get these

completed because it will be great for intertaining our family on holidays.

This is why I've been in hiding.

I am working on a huge project; I haven't been around much, but I still take time to visit you!

Have you Heard! A pellet for Power surges!

I have had power surges for years now and they tend to be getting worst the older I get.
For 2010 the new year I have put the focus on getting my health in order, exercising like I use
to and finding a new family doctor.

So last week I took a trip to a doctor and a place called HRC.
This means Hormone Replacement Center.

My husband made the journey with me. We talked to the doctor and here is how this works:
A pellet is inserted in the upper buttocks area near your waist. It is inserted slightly under the skin
for 30 days. Within the 30 days the body will absorb the pellet within that 30 days. Before the pellet
is inserted they do blood work to see if you have any hormone levels and what your readings are.
After 30 days they make a new pellet and insert that one. There is about 4 pellets that are inserted the first
year until they get you adjusted. The next year you may need only a few.

The total cost if you pay up front is $2900.00 for the first year. If you choose to pay for each visit when you go it is $900.00 per visit. Now we sat and talked for over an hour. The only thing that could happen is an infection at the injection site if you don't care for it like you should. You need to keep it dry and don't exercise for a week. If it becomes infected than they give you medicine to clear it up.

I still have not decide to do the pellet injection yet. I am still researching this procedure.

The pellet is made all natural hormones from yam plants. The pellet is similar to a grain of rice.

Previous doctors want to give you medicine for depression! I'm not depressed, what do they not understand about that. Why do doctors feel that the first thing to take care of your problems is give you a pill. I am focused on taking my health into my own hands at this point. I had a really great woman doctor and 6 years ago she retired. I have not been able to find another like her. But I will look until I find the right one.
Are you facing some of these same issues; can you share with some advise of what steps you have taken?

Snow and Penguins...........it's cold outside.

Last year I had the mantel in chocolate tiger ribbon and gold. This year I changed it up with the thought of snow! The wreath is snow as well as the mantel swag. The bows are two ribbons of silver and gold.

The theme was snow and penguins. I added the red candles to the silver candle holders after this photo

was taken. I will show it again with the 10ft christmas in the next posting.

Exterior Christmas Decor

Door wreaths done is silver, gold and red. Each wreath with white lights. A 7 1/2 christmas street with all whtie lights

with matching door wreath ribbon. Snow man is all dressed up for the festive affair.

An extra sleigh for Santa to make sure that he doesn't run out of reindeers and presents

before he gets to my grandkids home. I have rocks in the boxes to hold the gifts

in the sleigh so the wind doesn't blow then away.

This year I added the swags to the pineapple lights.

White snow ribbon added to the urns out doors

Christmas greenery branches of two different kinds and pinecones.

Taller urn is also decorated like the two entrance urns.

It gets really windy in this entrance area; hince the gold paper tree skirt which there are

large rocks that hold the tree down.

Face lift for Armoire's and Cabinets

Just look at what you can do with your old armoires!

The ideas are endless with ways to use them for storage or organizing.

My daughter has one in her basement that I would like to have for storage

and to use for some of these ideas.

I hope you enjoyed these picures because they sure opened my eyes on what can

be done with an armoire. And I only thought I could store my TV and sweaters.

It is finished!

It has been a long time coming this year to try and get the chair railing and trim done in the foyer and down the hall to the master suite. I was inspired by Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality. If you get a change please check out Rhoda's blog and her interior decorating skills.
Rhoda made it look so easy; it wasn't too bad once you had it all laid out and the spacing figured out between each frame. I haven't decide what the upper wall color will be yet.

Next project; chair railing in the dinning room and the kitchen nook. Stay tuned.

I showed a sneak peek last week on the front door. Below are some close ups of the ghost, door wreaths and more. Enjoy! I'll get on my broom and put my witches hat on and take a few lanterns and off we go................

Patio right off the garage side door. Mums planted here this week-end.

On the right side of the door the owl is in the center of the wreath. Black and orange

ribbon. (bought at hobby lobby).

Just a few pumpkins on the table outside on the covered porch. Still to decorate

more.

The decorations wound not be complete: the barn has to be decorated too.

I change different colors every year on the mum colors in the flower pots.

All mums are then put in the flower beds.

I made the center wreath. It was hard to find all the materials; I had a neighbor to

I went to Home Depot and Lowe's today. Wow so many to look at. So this afternoon
I went to a tile house. It's worse, they have everything and every color you are looking for. Hence the blog today.

My husband and I have a funny set up; I cut grass, clean house, run errands and he does the grocery shopping, the laundry and the cooking. It works well with us. However our laundry room is on my list of rooms that need a make over. Here are some ideas that I am looking at.

This is a wonderful way to hide your washer and dryer. I like the door fronts.

What happens when you say " I would like to have"?

Looking over the railing, laying in the hammock I was deciding if my back yard was the right place to put a gazebo. Over the years I had done many outdoor weddings underneath a gazebo.
I think it would be a special place to gather when you don't want to walk around to the side yard or front yard; or even go thur the walk out basement to get upstairs.

Here are a few that I could picture in my back yard; minus the water. Although the thought of having an in ground pool put in would really be a dream for me. I often lay on the porch and dream about things that just "pop into my head" so off I go to write down on my list of items to do so I don't lose the idea. I see a color and the color is?

See the difference when the walls are dark and the furniture and accessories are lighter.
Wow factor.

Beautiful dinning room with light walls, dark furniture and hints of blue color.

This is a game that I play with my granddaughter as we drive in the car. I was looking on the Internet today to see why I am always drawn to colors of sand, browns and greens. Here is my answer. I hope you enjoy the tip; maybe you are drawn to I see a color too.

Some people love chocolate. Wonderful appealing dark browns have been called "the new black" and look terrific with a wide variety of other colors.

Now you can immerse yourself in deep rich chocolate hues in your home. Picture yummy browns with crisp white, warm camels, golden yellows, fern greens, and barn reds. Sounds nice, doesn't it?

If you're interested in bringing the look of chocolate into your home, here are some ideas:

•Leather is an perfect choice for a chocolate color scheme. Available in a huge variety of hues, leather looks rich and deep, and will add both comfort and style to your room.

•Pair your chocolate colors with liberal amounts of a contrasting light neutral. You might pick a straw yellow, a golden sand, bright white, or even a pale gray or sage. Base your scheme on at least one fabric choice, preferably a print that incorporates a number of wonderful colors to use throughout your home.

•Ralph Lauren has the paints and techniques for bringing a suede look to your walls. This might be just the thing for a cozy den, a powder room, or even a kitchen. Offset with liberal amounts of white or neutrals on the ceiling, walls, cabinets, etc., it should give a cozy rather than a closed in feel.

•Dark wood furniture will underscore you dark brown theme, but add some pieces that are painted or lighter woods both for interest and to avoid a completely heavy look. Natural rattan, wicker, and bamboo pieces will also fit in well.

•Bring chocolate into your bedroom with dark furniture, rich corduroy or velvet bed coverings, and moldings. Keep your background light (floors and walls) to focus on the freshness of this color scheme. Or go with deeper walls and punch it up with lots of bright white.

•Rich fabrics fit in well with a chocolate brown palette. Lovely gold damasks, shiny silk, bouillon fringe, tassels, and cording will add depth and texture.

•Plan your rooms using chocolate as the constant, but vary the themes, contrasting colors, and looks of each individual room. Go for velvet luxury in the living room, desert sand and straw in the home office, a rich floral in the bedroom.

•Add brown touches to neutral window coverings, with rows of trims, borders, or banding.

•Using lots of plants and greenery in brown schemes will lighten up the feeling and bring life to your rooms. Natural dried accessories can also be used such as a large vase of bamboo sticks, a basket of curly willow branches, or a dried flower arrangement.

•Many ceramic tile and natural stone floors are perfect in brown schemes. Look for undertones of gold or yellow (rather than pink or gray) to warm up your floors or counter tops.

•Grass cloth, bamboo, and sisal will fit nicely into a chocolate room. Look for grass cloth wallpapers, bamboo blinds, and sisal area rugs or carpeting. These can add a lighter straw color or a deeper brown tone to the room.

•Look for fabrics that use brown as either a major or minor color. Chenille's are a natural, as are rich paisleys, stripes, checks, and some fl orals. Some toile patterns are also available in beige's, tans, and browns.

•Brown dinnerware may not be appealing to everyone, but you can easily add brown touches to your table by uncovering a wood table, using wood accessories like salad bowls, and pairing white dishes with rich brown place mats and colored napkins.
If you adore chocolate and want to bring that warm sweet look to your home, find ways to coordinate the look into a lovely, sophisticated, and liveable color scheme

Take me back...........

The wreath I maded for mother.

Memories My 80 year old father, me, baby brother and baby sister. Dad is losing more and more weight.
He is grieving himself to death. They would have been married 61 years in Oct. Mother was only 78 years young. She was shy two months to her 79 birthday.

This is one of the wreaths that I made for mother grave site. Gosh, How I miss her.

This year my husband and I took a trip to my fathers for my dad's family decoration; decoration is where all the family meets to decorate the graves of their love ones. It is on a Sunday and we have dinner and spend time with all the relatives at the grave site. This has been going on since I was a small girl and longer. This is Cumberland Gap Park, it is about 8 minutes from where my father and mother lived. As you know my mother passed away in March of this year.

I miss her so much as does my father and siblings.

Scenic area. This wall is new. I had gone there because some 15 years ago my mother and I carved out names in the wood that surround this area and I went back to find her name and it had been replaced with this rock.

So pretty here and peaceful. My mother loved to come up here.

4th of July Celebration Sunset Dinner........

Some of our friends stopped over on last Saturday evening to see how our vacation went.
So I ask them to come on over for grill out and I had 15 minutes to get dressed and set this table.

This is what happens after a long day at the beach. Grandpa and Kara where exhausted!

The boys where building race cars in the sand and Kara was modeling for the up coming race car magazine.

Kara, her dad Rob, Nati, Shannon, Chris and Maddie girl on the far right. I certainly have

some princesses in this family.

All six grand kids with grandpa watching a movie waiting for dinner.

This is pretty much what we did all week. We love to sit and listen to the waves and people watch.

We had a blast this year, Jacob lost his glasses in the ocean and David got swimmers ear.

And they all swam back at the beach house in the pool every night.

We enjoy grandpa ice cream night and grandpa putt putt golf night. The girls and I went shopping.

Thank you again to Susan at Between Naps on the front Porch for hosting our table scape Thursday. This is one on my favorite china settings. This is Butler Pantry and I still am collecting pieces to this twelve piece set.

This pitcher is rather large piece and it so pretty.
Oops, knocked over my ice tea glass; purchased these this week from an antique dealer.
Table linen is 8 yards of old material I had and decided to use the creme and browns.
Love the rooster accent salad plate.
Just a little different table centerpiece.

Ice teaspoons and tableware is First Love by Roger Brothers

The detail on the plates and salad plates are like white beads; so beautiful.

Little candle light.
Soft taffy brown napkins and jewel tone napkin rings.

Some bread with some dip.

I have different piece of the butler's pantry; these sugar and creamer are a different look than the plates.

This is not just another fish story............

Yes, we have all heard the great fish stories from our grandfathers, fathers and husbands.
We have even heard them from our neighbors and friends. This man is a great friend of
my husbands and owns about 350 acres. This is one of his lakes on his property. Friday
night my grandson pictured here came by our home with his brother, sister and his parents, (my daughter and her husband) for dinner. He decided that he wanted to go fishing
this evening and my husband took him and our grand daughter. My daughter Natalie use
to fish all the time and decided to go with them. This is about 2 miles down the road from our
home. Leo is such a sweet man and let's the grand children come and fish when ever they want.
Natalie caught this channel cat, weighing 5.3 lbs. She had a real fight on her hands and Leo seen
all the commotion going on and came down to help her get it in the net. She was so excited and this is truly a fish story that you could see, show and tell about it. My grandson was disappointed that he didn't catch it. Kara was so excited she kept telling her mom to roll it in. They all had a good time.

My neighbor's flower Garden; Tootsie's Fertilize Friday

This is my neighbors flower garden. This is where I had one of the weddings over the memorial day week-end. I will show the wedding pictures at a later post. She has flower bulbs from her mother from years ago. She has moved her flowers around from home to home. Sharon has a real green thumb. This photos are of her side and back yard. I will take some of her front yard
at a later date; hopefully if she lets me show her home inside.

She has many peonies in different pinks and whites.

Irises are so beautiful and she has many different varieties.

Shanon's husband built this gazebo for their son's wedding.

Path of flowers to her back yard and patio's and porches.

Lots of yellow's, purples, pinks and blues.

Real light purple; this is so beautiful up close.

Almost a blue color.

An old fashion pump is one of the ornaments in her yard.

Her husband did all the pave rs. You really don't see the justice to the

layout of this walkway. It is so awesome and looks so great in her yard.

These pave rs are off the back porch and heads down all the way to the gazebo.

They where still working on all of this the night before the wedding.

Perfect wedding site.

She has lots of fish in her pond; each one is now a pet. Sharon is so sweet and just one

of those people that make you feel right at home in her home.

Amazing work, Paul did on the pathway.

This home is beautiful. I hope she will let me do a posting of the inside of her home.

Sunday Shopping Secrets on Tuesday today due to the holidays and I had two weddings this week-end. A small wedding on Friday night and Sunday Garden wedding for our friends son.

I ordered three of these chairs for our vacation trip to the beach for my girls and I. I

Thank you Susan at Between Naps on the Front Porch for another escape to table scape
thursday. This was a typical table setting for me on a week night. We had dinner tonight
on the back porch. Yes, I did cook but I will save that scene for Gollum's Foodie Friday.

These dishes where given to me from a friend of my mothers.

Place one peony in the small vase from my flower garden.

Just planted these flower boxes. Getting a late start; will save more for Tootsie Fertilize Friday.

Purchased these glasses at an antique shop in Destin Florida.

Mothers used napkins; but I don't care they made me think of her and it gave me some smiles.

Do you remember when you where a newbie? A newcomer to an on line Internet activity?
Like blogging or RMS or facebook or twitter?
So we all have been a newbie to something at one time or another. You all will be. I was once, as was everyone else.

Do you remember the first day that someone told you about Gollum? We all tried to figure out who this person was. Then we found out that she was an author of books.
And the pieces of the puzzle started to go together.

I love to learn from others and others experiences. We have a lot of experience here in blog land and so many talent people. Nothing makes me happier than feeding my sole with the chance to absorb new sites. I also hate being new at something, I want to be good at it, but I have very little patience for myself on the learning curve.
I am sure that I am not alone in this field of learning something new.

Stepping out of our comfort zone is challenging, it's something new, what will others think? I knew that is was time for me to move on from RMS and to finally address my fears and frustration of trying to blog.

Many nights I read, Design by Gollum, Tootsie Time, Between Naps on the Front Porch,
and all the gals that show up in my blog list. These are amazing gals that write beautiful blogs about themselves, home decorating,gardening, and recipes. I listen to their selection of music, toured their homes and got
to know some family members. I Became friends with some that called and I can't stress enough that blog family is like no other. It's made up of long distant friends, friends close and friends in other countries.

I stepped out of my shell and notice that others where learning and that they too made mistakes. This blogging is easy once you get the hang of it; but I am still going thu the learning phase. I would have crawled into a hole never coming out if I had not experienced the joy of blogging with others here in blog land. I got a new attitude with my re-found self-assurance when I began to leave comments and got answers back. I was on a roll and so excited. Do you remember?

Should I or should I not trade hubby's corvette in............

I told Tootsie that I've been thinking about trading one of my husband's corvette's in, I think now is most definitely the time and most assuredly the right vehicle.

The older I get the more I think about what we should be doing with our life before
social security sets in ( if we have any by the time we retire) and before we decide
that we better take what's left of our four o one Kay (401K) before the government and wall street have something else in mind for our money. We have lost over half of
what we have worked for all these years. so...........

I'm tired of paying mortgage bills, utility bills, property taxes.
I want to live more simply, pack up and move into a travel trailer.

And I don't mind being called "trailer trash", but I want to get all of your
opinions.

I ask myself is this trashy enough?

I know some of you gals out there have really nice trailers and campers; we met a couple on the beach last year and this is similar to there trailer. They travel 8 months out of the year in the warmer climates. And in the spring and summer that visit all their family. What a wonderful life. But our problem is how do you leave your children and grandchildren. We see them at least once or twice a week?

Hubby doesn't want to give his 66 Corvette up so I think I will have to look for something a little more our style of budget.

My mother made this table linen, 8 napkins and a table runner for me over 39 years ago. There are very special to me and I still wonder today what she was thinking as she crossed stitched these for me. I will treasure these forever. I use to use these all the time in the summer for my table but the my grandchildren are still young and I keep them in the linen closet. As I was taking the photos I remember mother had given these to me at christmas time. The detals on these are so colorful, the pictures really don't bring out the beauty of what she has done here.

Sunday Shopping Secrets...........Our Fourth Posting of What's in your Bag?

this week.

Little black box. This has a place in the very top that you could use to put a votive
in.

Cost of the box? $10.00 so reasonable.

I have this in my master bath sitting on the vanity.

I was at a bridal shop and saw these shoes; you can change out the color of the ribbon.

I got these for a wedding at the end of may and I will change out the ribbon for my outfit.

Just $12.99 What a deal. I couldn't pass these shoes up.

These will match the coach purse I got for Christmas a couple of years ago.

For $39.99, last years pair from spring. Sales lady found these for me.

So cute. And the price was just right.

I will have to hide these from my daughter on second thought from my four year

old granddaughter; she loves to play in my closet and shoes.

White dress down pull over blouse from Macy's; great deals on sale now.

This top is so soft; I love the material and this also was at Macy's.

Orange material; so cute for Capri pants. Not very expensive. On sale at Macy's.

Foodie Friday Fun.......My First.

I showed you the finished product first. This is Wednesday night's birthday dinner.
I don't usually cook; my husband is the cook in this family.

This is a dish my mother use to make when we where at home.

Swiss steak in tomato sauce. I added garlic, pepper, tomatoes, and salt.
The side dishes are corn on cob and mash potatoes.

Nothing fancy just good old home style cooking. I usually only cook on the week-ends
or holidays.

Gollum this is the first for me; hubby wants to know if he needs to purchase more
dishes so I'll cook. We had a great laugh over that one.

Who knows I just might catch on to this Foodie Friday Fun stuff! My dishes will never

look like the ones you gals do. What about those dishes that Gollum cooks up; such details

on her dishes and a little of this and that and it's marvelous looking and looks like it came out

of a cook book. You're wonderful Gollum and keep the Foodie Friday's coming. You might

just make a cook out of me yet; hubby is hoping. He is even getting into the desserts that

you have done already. He thinks we should stop at Big Lots on the way home from work.

I had to tell him that I have dishes hid all over the house and in the basement; if he need a dessert dish just let me know. I had to give my secret away.

Butterflies make me happy! And I often wonder how they get
their color.

I am going to be outside for most of the day on mother's day.
I have been invited for breakfast with my daughter Nati and
then I want to take a walk in our local park. It's a 2 mile walk
and it should be nice on Sunday.

Butterflies are beautiful. This is one of my favorites; it's called a zebra butterfly.

I love nature and I look for wild life when I take these walks. Who knows what

I may find on my outing on sunday?

I'll take my camera to show you how I spent my day.

This evening I am meeting my oldest daughter Shannon for a belated birthday dinner and

mother's day. She will be out of town on mother's day.

I will certainly be thinking of my mother on Sunday; you will be in my heart and I'll take

a walk with you beside me this day. I will never forget you.

What's a Birthday............

Well it can mean a lot to different people.
For me today, yes it's true that I just
turned 57 years young today.

Age never bothered me until I hit the big 50.
And then something happen. Fifty became old.

I can recall when my mother turned fifty and she
never complained. She had a secret that I didn't
find out until now. No matter how you feel about
your age, you can not change that you are now another
year older. And she accepted it! And so must I.

This morning Mr. Williams had a birthday card with a large
amount of money in it for me! He said I heard your conversation
the other night about needed cloths for our vacation. Oh, he does listen!

Today, I took off work just to have a me day. I look over old photos of my
mother and pictures of her and I. It was a moving morning with just her
and I. I talked to her about each photo and where it was and what we
where doing when the picture was taken. Some how I felt at peace with her
today. I miss her so but I know she knows that she is with me everyday. So
thank you mother for spending part of my birthday with me. It meant the world
to me.

I went to the salon for a pedicure and manicure. It was wonderful. This has been
a wonderful day today. I will make dinner, Mr Williams wanted to take me out for
dinner but I am choosing to cook tonight. I hardly ever cook; he is such a wonderful
cook and I thought tonight that I would cook for us. It's been raining all day so a nice
quite dinner is just fine with me.

So ladies this has been one of the best days for me in over five weeks. Everyone
needs a me day once in a while.

I Can't Believe That I Only Purchased Two Items.........

OUR THIRD SUNDAY SHOPPING SECRETS

What a handy tool for the bar or kitchen. Wine opener!

We enjoy having a glass of wine in the evening; my daughter had a wine opener like
this and I decided that the old fashion openers with the screw cork took too much time.
So this week I purchased one for us. This removes the cork and then reverse and pops
the cork loose.

This box caught my eye. I love to accessories my home; my girls think I have too much sitting
around. What would they think if they came to visit and I removed all my accessories or just
half of them. I like lots of stuff and I like to change them out as the seasons come and go.

This box is black and gold. It's not a bright gold nor is it shiny it's a really pretty gold color

and it works great in several rooms. I just don't know where its' home will be for now. It

is on the bedroom dresser for now.

I really thought I got a good deal for this box is fairly large. It's as large as a dinner plate.

Oh, gosh I guess I shouldn't have said that; Gollum will tell me to hide my dishes in here!

I guess I saved money this week; I usually have a lot of items in my bag.

Grand Children and Discipline

Yesterday was my granddaughter's first communion. There is a divorce that has taken place with my oldest daughter. So it was uncomfortable and some bad feelings between both families

We got Thu the event without much trouble.

Our family went back to my daughters for late lunch. During dinner part of us where eating

in the kitchen great room and some where in the dinning room. It was beautiful weather yesterday and great for being out doors.

During lunch our six year old, 4 year old and 10 year old where running around the couch, into the kitchen and back around into the great room. On their way back to the great room they would dive over the couch. And the six year old would stand on the couch and jump to the ottoman. I told them to stop and go out side if they wanted to run and play. I don't allow

this kind of action to happen in my home and correct them accordingly.

I told them three times to stop. On the last attempt to get them to stop I chased the six year old into the dinning room to where his mother was (my oldest daughter). My youngest daughter interrupted me while telling my daughter what was taken place. My youngest daughter told me that the parent should do the discipline and not the grandparent. I was furious. I disagree with them and I told them so.

I called my youngest daughter to talk to her about what she had said and told her that I disagreed with her and that not only one of the children but more could have been seriously hurt during the running and jumping. This is the second time that I have had this conversation with her. So today my oldest called and said she would also discipline her children; well it never happens. This children are spoiled and I don't agree that only the parent should discipline them.

I love my grand children dearly with all my heart and we spoil them rotten our selves.

Today I wrote my daughters a letter and told them that I disagree with their decisions so I would not be watching the children anymore. I am so hurt over this that they would make this

decision; I refuse to let my grandchildren act this way when I am around. They are not bad children but do need to be discipline at times. I am really shock over this decision and this is the second time this has come up. I have had to discipline them at my home about jumping on

the beds and couch. One grand son put a hole in my work out room downstairs and I told his mother and she took him to my husband and made him apologize over it.

As a grand parent what do you do. I am afraid that they will get hurt if you just let them go and I never let my girls act that way at home or anyones home I want to hear from you young ladies too. If anything I try to over protect them. Both daughters where not raised this way and

it really hurts my feelings.

All you grandparents I want to hear from you; how do you approach this problem. I have

five beautiful grand children. My daughter who told me this, it wasn't even her home!

I love my girls but I feel very strong about his kind of behavior from children.

2nd Sunday Shopping Secrets

I know a lot of you gals out that have been doing some shopping so share those items with us this week-end.

I bought material to make new napkins for the out door porch off the great room.
I plan to purchase a cabinet to store the dishes used on the porch for table scape
Thursday. Check out Susan's beautiful cabinet where she stores her dishes until
used for her guest. I hope I will be lucky enough to come across something like
hers.

While shopping on the way home from my fathers this last week-end my sister and I
decided to visit one of the off the road flee markets. The soup tureen is one of

I am at my fathers: been here is since last week and will be here to enjoy Easter with him and some
of my brothers and sisters. I felt the need to post something about Easter. I am thankful for all of you girls and your support.

I put these flower out in pots right before I left last week.
Tootsie this is as good as it gets for now. I've missed you this
week.

Happy Easter to all of you in blog land. Rough week and first holiday with out our mother.I am showing my father all the comments from all of you; he is amazed that
such support in our time of need is coming from people I have never met.
He says thank you to from him from the bottom of his heart. So..........thankful.

I've never told anyone but my Father was a minister for 65 years. He has taught me alot this week and helping me to understand mothers passing.

We are all cleaning today and we laughed, cried and have enjoy this morning so much.
I hope time will heal our pain.

I thank all of you for your comments, condolences, flowers and to
all that have kept me focus whether it was a phone call, table scape
Thursday or Gollum Friday Foodie post and of course Tootsie who thinks
she can teach me to garden. I am with my father this week
and will return back to blog once again in a week or too. Again,
my family and I thank you for all your prayers at this time. I miss her
so! You gals are wonderful people and I have leaned on all of you; thank
you for holding me up.

A tablescape that I will never forget........A one of a kind!

This table scape is unusual; it has been hand selected by the best Gardener in blog land. Each flower as beautiful as the ones she selects for her own garden.
I have been in great pain and suffering from the death of my mother. The simply
tasks are so hard to do and I seem to get nothing accomplish. One of the blogger wrote to me and it talked about life going on and just didn't seem to be fair that life goes on. And I agree. But it took a friend in Canada to get me up from bed.
A friend that god sent my way, not realizing that I would need her in times of great stress and pain. I'm glad he did. Tootsie, so thankful for you. And I know
you don't know this but the flowers are the same that my mother had on her gasket.
She as I do love white stargazers. The alstromeria and stock are so beautiful. You didn't know that even though we met while blogging that you could know some one to
this extent. I love you Tootsie and I truly appreciate you gift and I wished it would live forever. I have my sissy and brothers and I will get Thu this. But I
need some time. Only you could have gotten me to blog today; and I can say this is
the most awesome gift of flowers ever displayed in a table scape Thursday. Thank you again my friend.

My sister sends all her thank you's to each of you. I have read her all your comments and she is over whelmed with all your support. She will be leaving
on Friday to be with my father. She will join you all; she needs time.
Tootsie and Gloria she wants you to know that her heart is filled with so much
love and support from both of you. Always asking about our mother and all of
you have kept her busy with blogging and I appreciate that. Anita and I are very close and she is my big sister; she is always there for me and our other brothers.
She is always trying to do the right thing and make decisions that our mother and
father would want her to do. She raised me while our mother worked and I can't tell
you what a wonderful person her and her husband are. I still feel like mother is here Thu Anita. But she is so heart broken as we all are but she is so like mom, her shoes, clothes, purses and her home. When I see my sister I see my mother. I look more like mom but Anita has her good will and I have the calm side of mother.
So we will help each other and I took care of mother up until she passed; Anita feels guilty that she couldn't spend the time with her like she wanted. But if you know Anita she owns two business plus her floral shop and she is never still. She took care of mother in other ways. She feels she needs this extra time with my father and she is going to take that time. Please pray for us and our family.
Sissy will be back soon for she loves to table scape and interior design. Photos of her home doesn't do it justice, she is so creative but she doesn't show you that side of her; she sells herself short. I am with my father and I will stay as long
as it's necessary. It's been hard on my father who has been the primary care giver for mother for 10 years. I came two weeks out of the month to help. We need more prayers than you can realize. Tootsie, Anita's husband said that you where the sweetest person he had talked to. So sweet of you to call yesterday and check on Anita. Thank you. Jeweldine Stewart

My mother has past on..............

I knew this day was close but I'm not prepared. Yesterday my mother passed away
at 3:30. It has been a long night and I really need all your prayers. She had
six children, all of them living and 10 grand children and 16 great grandchildren.

What a wonderful mother she was; always quite and never raised her voice. I will miss her forever and carry her memories with me and remember all the talks we had.

I will need to take this time to be with my brothers and sisters to grieve.

My second table scape Thursday and I want to thank Susan for hosting our table scape Thursday and giving us ladies a change to show off our table settings. Please visit her and all the other gals that participate in this fabulous blog. See Table scape thursday at Between Naps on the porch.

The salad dish, and bread plate are from the Fleuron collection. The large dinner plate is Fitz and Floyd and I bought this set when it first came out and I love the dark green leaves that surround the plate.

The rabbit is a rabbit that I use to sell in my floral and gift shop. It came with a CD and a story about rabbits. If you notice she is guarding her egg. She doesn't want the fox to get her little one before it hatches. Baby rabbit is watching from
the other side to make sure that he can run when trouble approaches.

Thank you for visiting my table scape today. I am posting early due to a scheduled

Foodie Friday Mishaps...............

Check out Gollum and all the stories being told today. Thank you Gollum for this
opportunity to share our stories of mishaps in the kitchen.

It happen to be on Thanksgiving in 1974. My husband and I had been married for five years and we had a 4 year old daughter. It was time for us to have the family thanksgiving dinner at our house. Our daughter was getting older and we where
adjusting in our first home.

I planned that each member would bring a dish and that way everyone got to participate in the dinner and brought their favorite dishes. I had planned
the dressing, corn casserole, dinner rolls, etc.

My sister in law wanted to do the turkey and raved about how her turkeys where always so moist and delicious. So I told my husband we will make a small turkey
for us and bake it early in the morning so we can have some left overs. There
wasn't going to be an left overs with all the family members that was coming to dinner and the sister in law turkey would all be gone.

So I baked my turkey early like at 6:00 in the morning. And my turkey was finished
around 10:00. I sliced it and put it in the fridge to save for later that evening and the following day.

Well all the guest arrived around 12:30 for early dinner around 2:00. I had the table set with what dishes I had back then and set a small table for the children.
Everyone brought their dish and it all look so delicious and smelled wonderful and my
house smelled like thanksgiving.

My husband always slices the turkey and he proceed to do so as usual and the ladies and I continued to set the table with the sides dishes, butter etc.

All Of a sudden my husband called to me and it didn't sound too good. I went to see
what the matter was and he said " take a look inside this turkey that your sister n law has fixed for our feast. Well,........ inside the turkey was the bag of giblets, and at the other end was the neck. Well! I was so sick to my stomach
and I know it must have shown on my and hubby's faces. But with all the talking going on no one noticed. So, I had a plan. I would take the turkey from the fridge that I had baked for him and I and would serve that one. So we proceed to cut her turkey and throw it in a plate like the one we where serving ours own and then he would take it outside to the garbage.

So he took out the parts that where left in the turkey and disposed of them.
My sister n law raved how delicious the turkey was and how it seems to be better this
year.

So we told our my hubby's mother and father about what had happen and my mother in law stills laughs about it today. My husband's brother divorced her some 10 years later and we told him the story. Needless to say we never ate a meal at their house
we always used an excuse not to show up.

So as we continued to have thanksgiving with out children and our grandchildren they all know the story and we over wash and clean our turkeys.

You had to be there to see this drama take place...........
