I love the hummingbirds! My desk and computer sit right inside of a bay window and I get to see them all day, well, in the Spring and summer that is... I can't remember the name of my flowering shrubs that they love so much, but they do hang out in my hydrangea tree!

Ms. Doris my neighbor had a tree fall and her husband had cut it up to throw on the burn pile and when I saw them, my head started spinning and I proclaimed, "Don't you dare burn those I can put a container on them!" Well, they thought that was funny, and now I am some logs and I believe Ms. Doris has decided she likes the look too! I like different sizes logs grouped together with containers and or birdbaths on them as well!
We have lots of hummers around here in the spring and summer. We have hostas and several feeders. I love them!

GREAT POST!!! I have them in my petunias too....anything bright with a bell shaped flower seems to attract them here! I love it all
chickweed is sometimes used as a houseplant or ground cover in some places...it is invasive and will choke out even grass if left unchecked. I hate it. One tiny hair of a root can make an entire flowerbed infested! it has it's place...but not in my yard!
I too love hummingbirds. I have a sun room that looks out onto a pergola that is covered with some kind of greenery. The hummingbirds feel right at home there, but I can't for the life of me tell you what kind of plant is attracting them, so thanks for all the useful information.

This post is perfect I get hummingbirds occasionally and want to attract more to my deck this summer. I just got back from gathering materials for my Sunday Shopping post! I will just have to tell my husband "honey groceries just cost more this week!" I also agree blogging is much nicer then RMS, and more fun...Cathy
Beautiful post! We have more Hummingbirds, here at the lake than we do at home. We don't have living plants, since we aren't here enough to keep them healthy and growing. For several years we've had a feeder and many of these tiny birds come by our deck. Last year, I put a silk fuscia on the deck and the Hummingbirds loved it. The Purple Finch loved it too...they nested in it!!
Oh I want to do this!!! But I don't own the land I live on... *sniff* Someday.
